Gate Launches Japanese Stock Trading On TSE, Strengthening Its One-Stop Multi-Asset Trading Ecosystem

Digital asset exchange Gate has launched Japanese equity trading, characterizing the initiative as an industry-first offering among cryptocurrency platforms. The initial rollout includes approximately 300 securities listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE), accessible through Gate Web with mobile application integration planned for a subsequent release. Traders can execute transactions in Tether (USDT) without establishing a traditional Japanese brokerage relationship or converting holdings into yen.

The debut selection emphasizes established issuers with substantial market capitalization, active liquidity profiles, and broad investor recognition. Among the available securities are Toyota Motor (7203.P), Sony Group (6758.P), SoftBank Group (9984.P), Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (8306.P), Nintendo (7974.P), and Tokyo Electron (8035.P), representing segments of the TSE Prime Market and related tiers. Platform representatives noted that the Japanese equity universe will expand progressively according to user demand and market conditions.

Japanese securities operate within Gate’s existing equity infrastructure, sharing account architecture and operational capabilities with American, Hong Kong, and Korean stock services. Participants may access market data, submit and manage orders, adjust or withdraw pending transactions, monitor portfolios, and review historical activity through a single interface. Execution windows correspond to TSE operating hours: 09:00 to 11:30 and 12:30 to 15:25 Japan Standard Time (00:00 to 02:30 and 03:30 to 06:25 Coordinated Universal Time). Order entry is unavailable during the midday suspension and following the market close. Although security valuations, position metrics, and profit-and-loss calculations display in Japanese yen, trade settlement and fee assessment occur exclusively in USDT pursuant to platform guidelines.

Broader Integration of Traditional and Digital Asset Markets

The TSE initiative represents a component of Gate’s systematic expansion across major global equity jurisdictions. The platform now facilitates access to four core markets: the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan. Aggregate offerings exceed 10,000 American stocks and exchange-traded funds, 1,500 Hong Kong listings, 1,000 Korean securities, and the recently introduced 300 Japanese instruments, comprising a global catalog of more than 12,800 assets. Supplementary features include commission-free trading for qualifying American securities and exchange-traded funds, fractional share acquisition starting at 0.01 units, dividend distribution processing, cross-broker transfer functionality for American and Hong Kong positions, and administrative support for corporate actions such as forward splits and reverse splits.

Gate has additionally developed a segmented product architecture spanning multiple investment stages and asset classes, incorporating Pre-IPO allocation opportunities, IPO Access subscriptions, and gStocks tokenized equity instruments. These vehicles provide alternative entry points for pre-public market exposure, new issuance participation, and blockchain-settled ownership representation.

Analysts observe that the Japanese equity integration underscores the platform’s strategic objective of converging conventional financial instruments with digital asset infrastructure. By consolidating exchange-listed securities, exchange-traded funds, initial public offerings, and tokenized assets within a unified environment, Gate aims to streamline cross-market capital deployment and reduce structural barriers to international portfolio construction. The organization has communicated plans to accelerate entry into additional geographic markets and asset categories, strengthen interoperability between legacy finance and cryptocurrency ecosystems, and cultivate a comprehensive multi-asset destination serving diverse investment objectives.
