Roblox revealed the release of two cutting-edge AI technologies on March 18, 2024, at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. These technologies are intended to streamline and accelerate the development of 3D content. The purpose of these two tools—Avatar Auto Setup and Texture Generator—is to increase the productivity and inventiveness of platform designers.
By automating the complicated task of transforming 3D body models into fully animated avatars, Avatar Auto Setup drastically cuts down on the amount of time needed for human wiring. What used to take days may now be finished in a matter of minutes, freeing up creators to concentrate less on technical concerns and more on creativity.

Conversely, Texture Generator offers straightforward text prompts that enable developers to rapidly alter the look of 3D things. With the help of this tool, artists may experiment with various textures and styles with greater freedom and speed. For instance, a designer can specify the desired appearance, and a texture generator would generate a corresponding texture if they wanted a distinctive texture for a wooden treasure chest. This functionality makes it possible to produce several asset versions and iterate efficiently.
