From Code to Crypto Payments: AEREDIUM Launches Dual-Layer Controls for Autonomous AI Agents

Current image: Diagram illustrating AEREDIUM’s control layer for autonomous AI agents: policy engine evaluates actions, outcomes are approved/denied/held for human review, and every decision is cryptographically signed for auditability. Shows split view: left side for code governance (The Chair), right side for financial operations (MCP Connector).

As autonomous AI agents take on increasingly sensitive tasks—from writing production code to executing multi-million-dollar trades—organizations are facing a new class of operational and compliance risks. AEREDIUM, a digital asset infrastructure provider, is addressing this challenge with the launch of two new products: The Chair and MCP Connector. Available via the company’s new aeredium.ai platform, the tools introduce policy-based controls, human oversight, and verifiable audit trails for AI-driven software development and financial operations.

Why Control Matters for Autonomous AI Agents

AI agents are no longer limited to answering questions or summarizing documents. They’re now writing code, deploying changes to production repositories, and moving real funds across blockchains. While this unlocks massive efficiency gains, it also introduces new exposure: a single misconfigured agent can cause irreversible damage through erroneous commits, unauthorized transfers, or trades executed outside risk limits.

“AI agents are no longer just answering questions. They’re writing code, moving money and making decisions that have real consequences,” said Albert Dadon, CEO and Founder of AEREDIUM. “The challenge isn’t just making these agents more capable, but making sure they operate within the rules we set.”

AEREDIUM’s solution is to place a control layer between the AI agent and the systems it interacts with. Every proposed action is evaluated against owner-defined policies before execution. Outcomes are binary or triaged: automatically approved, automatically denied, or held for human review. Each decision is cryptographically signed and recorded, creating a verifiable history of agent activity.

The Chair: Governing AI in Software Development

The Chair targets software engineering teams that use AI coding assistants to modify internal systems and repositories. It acts as a middleware layer between the agent and the development environment, evaluating each tool call before it runs.

Key capabilities include:

  • Policy enforcement: Actions like executing commands, modifying files, merging code, or pushing changes are checked against organizational policies.
  • Human review workflow: Requests outside predefined rules are held for approval via a control panel.
  • Audit trail: Every decision generates a signed receipt that documents what the agent attempted, which policy applied, and who authorized the action.
  • Integration: Supports Claude Code via a dedicated plugin and provides a governed shell for other coding agents, including those from OpenAI.
  • No-code policy setup: Organizations can define policies through a questionnaire rather than writing rules directly in code.

The product is available with a 30-day free trial, lowering the barrier for teams to test governance workflows before scaling.

MCP Connector: Controlled Finance for AI Agents

While The Chair focuses on code, MCP Connector applies the same policy-driven approach to financial operations. It combines a policy engine with a digital asset wallet, enabling AI agents to execute payments and trades only within owner-defined limits.

Key features:

  • Role-based access: Two agent roles are available:
    • Payer: Can send USDC, USDT, PYUSD, and EURC to pre-approved addresses but cannot trade.
    • Trader: Can trade on designated exchanges within its own wallet but cannot send funds externally.
  • Ownership control: Each agent has its own wallet, policy, and designated owner. The owner defines the agent’s role, approves its mandate via a passkey, and can halt or delete the agent at any time.
  • Security: Threshold signatures are generated inside secure enclaves; no complete private key is ever created, and AEREDIUM does not hold access to owner funds.
  • Blockchain support: Currently supports Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base. Transaction records are retained for seven years.
  • Framework compatibility: Designed for Claude and open to OpenAI and other AI frameworks.

This design ensures that even if an agent is compromised or misconfigured, it cannot exceed its authorized scope—and every action remains traceable.

Institutional-Grade Governance Built on Existing Infrastructure

Both products build on AEREDIUM’s existing institutional infrastructure, including threshold-signature technology and a policy engine already used in custody and blockchain settlement. The same principle applies: transactions must satisfy predefined rules before they can be signed, and all decisions are recorded for verification.

By extending these controls to AI agents, AEREDIUM aims to help organizations adopt autonomous systems for high-stakes tasks while maintaining oversight, compliance, and auditability. The launch also marks a strategic expansion beyond digital asset custody into the governance of AI-driven financial and software operations.

Availability

The Chair and MCP Connector launched on October 13, 2026, and are available through AEREDIUM’s new AI platform.
