In Brief
Dolce&Gabbana, UNXD, and Decentraland launch a digital wearables competition.
Individuals can apply through March 12.
Winners will have the opportunity to showcase their designs at the Dolce&Gabbana space in Decentraland.
Italian fashion brand Dolce&Gabbana, curated luxury marketplace UNXD, and Decentraland are excited to launch a digital wearables competition as part of the Metaverse Fashion Week 2023.
This is the first time a traditional fashion brand has launched a digital fashion contest. Dubbed the “Future Rewind Competition,” it aims to create opportunities for an exchange of ideas and visions across various mediums.
To participate, creatives must submit five to 20 digital looks inspired by Dolce Gabbana’s heritage prints. Digital designers can choose from the traditional “Venice Carretto,” “Blue Mediterranean,” leopard, zebra, and DG logo prints and add the much-used black lace.
The competition is open to anyone who wants to create the next generation of digital wearables. Notably, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will offer personal and direct membership to the participants and will choose the winners alongside DGFamily NFT holders.
The winners will be announced during Metaverse Fashion Week, March 28 to 31. Lucky individuals will have the possibility to showcase their designs at the Dolce&Gabbana space in Decentraland. In addition, the final 15 to 20 digital looks will make part of a digital wearables collection created by Dolce&Gabbana. The items will be airdropped to the DGFamily NFT community.
Interested individuals can apply through March 12 on a dedicated page.
“Creating an inclusive network to support young talent has been an important part of our philosophy for decades, and we are incredibly excited to extend that mentorship into the metaverse with the Future Rewind competition,”
said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
This is not the first time that Dolce&Gabbana partners with UNXD. The companies have previously issued a limited-edition phygital capsule collection and digital wearables, as well as launched a “DGFamily” NFT community.
